Winter Necessities

As Newfoundland is in the grips of another challenging winter, the types of products we rent and sell changes for the season. With the drop in temperatures and increase in precipitation we’ll have plenty of insulated tarps, industrial space heaters, consumables, like gloves, balaclavas, and road salt, along with the introduction of our skid steer snowblower attachment for rent.

Our insulated tarps measure 20’x12′ – they have a durable outer shell, paired with a thick inner foam core. These tarps offer a solution for jobsites to stay warm during the winter – they keep the heat in and the cold out of any enclosure contractors build on their jobsites for the winter months. The tough 8×8 weave on the outer shell is weather and mildew resistant.

Double stitching along the edges makes it durable and able to handle windy Newfoundland winters . The stitching is reinforced with aluminum grommets, which gives you a place to tie the tarp down and secure it from blowing away.

As always during the winter months, we’ll have Commercial Space Heaters ready for pick up at the shop, and available for delivery in metro St.John’s. These heaters, produced by Flagro, can heat up to 9,500 square feet at a time! Our space heater rentals are popular on jobsites this time of year, and large outdoor gatherings. They rent for $50 per day, or $200 for the week. They run on diesel, heating oil or kerosene, so unless you have your own fuel, you should also take fuel expenses into account.

Delivery on the heaters is $60 each way in the metro St.John’s region, which is within a 15 kilometer radius from our shop at 1281 Topsail Rd, Mount Pearl. The heaters can also be loaded into a pick-up truck or picked up with a small trailer at our Mount Pearl shop.

An adjustable thermostat for the heaters is available for an additional cost of $10 per day. The thermostat will give users the ability to manually adjust the temperature on demand. 12’x12″ ducting hoses are rented separately for a rate of $6 per day. The heat travels through the hoses from the heater, so you can have the heater up to 12 feet away from the enclosure.

This winter season, we’ll be offering a snowblower attachment for skid steers. You can rent the attachment for $100 per day. This high-flow skidsteer attachment works with Takeuchi skidsteers. We have tracked skid steers for rent with the snowblower attachment. Rent short-term or long-term, with prompt delivery available in metro St.John’s region.

This skidsteer snowblower attachment, from QUICKATTACH, is manufactured in the USA, so you can depend on its quality. It’s 72″ in length, and when used properly in wet Newfoundland snow, it’s highly effective at clearing snow from areas where a plow can’t reach. Snow shovels, road salt and gloves include some of the winter commodities we carry at the shop. Save yourself the headache of traveling to one of the big box stores, and instead, stop by our family-run store to pick up snow shovels, salt, gloves and balaclavas this winter. Our convenient Mount Pearl location, right by the Paradise overpass, can save residents of Paradise and Mount Pearl the hassle of searching for parking in a big, chaotic box store parking lot. You’ll be supporting a local, 100% Newfoundland Owned & Operated business in the process.

Our wide-selection of cost-effective gloves is always available in the showroom – we have indoor and outdoor gloves for any season. Keep yourself warm with our unbeatable price on Balaclavas at $7.95 each, or a bundle of 12 for $6.50 each. Our prices on are hard beat!

Some other items we rent during winter months are generators and light towers. Power outages come along with the frequent wind storms we’ve been having so far this winter. Generators rent for as low as $25 a day. But we have larger models available that contractors use to power entire jobsites. Our 120 kW & 240 kW Generators are currently in stock and available for rent at the shop. Call ahead to check if we have light towers available!
